About Us

It is our pleasure to share our background with you

Chakara K9, our business partnership, is comprised of Abe Chahine and Eddie Karana. Abe is a full time Sheriff in the State of Michigan since 1997, as well as a dog handler, trainer and competitor in the sport of Schutzhund, competing in police style trials all across the country. Abe is married and has three children, two girls and one boy. Abe has been active in the sport of Schuzhund since 1997 and has won numerous trials. Trials ranging from club trials, Regionals, and National levels. His next goal is to win the Nationals and compete at the World Championship competition (WUSV) where he will represent the United States.

Eddie has had a passion for dogs since he was a young boy; training dogs while living overseas. His journey to the United States has brought him success owning cell phone stores as well as a dry cleaning business, but he was never quite happy with this work alone. Eddie has always found time to train his two German Shepherd Dogs which has brought him personal gratification.

As luck would have it in the summer of 2000, Abe and Eddie happened to be with their dogs training at a local park. They began to talk and realized their interest, passion and love for the German Shepherd Dog was identical. Eddie sold one of his businesses and became partners and best friends with Abe. Together they started Chakara K9. Since then, Eddie has been a a full time dog trainer, handler and competitor in Schutzhund. Eddie has won numerous trials at the club level. Eddie and his dog Scar vom Chakara, are currently training to compete in the Regionals and Nationals in 2010.
